Meet the Farmers
“I seek to farm in a way that feeds spiritual reciprocity with the earth and with my communities.”
– Zoe Fuller, Singing Nettle Farm
Zoe Fuller
Zoe Fuller is the main farmer at Singing Nettle and is an activist, writer and local food system advocate driven by her connection to the land. She loves farming because it is a way to bring the gifts of the earth to her community in Palmer and beyond.
Nick Treinen
Nick is a multi-talented fixer, builder, and sanity-keeper at Singing Nettle. He is also an Elementary School teacher who loves to build creatively with wood, hike far into the mountains and to help his friends and and neighbors. He grew up in Anchorage and Kodiak in a fishing family. You can find Nick’s creativity in all aspects of the farm operation, from the post-and-beam toolshed to handmade pottery.
Lynn Fuller
Landowner and Zoe’s mom, Lynn Fuller, generously allows these ragamuffins to do weird projects in her garage, woods and fields, as long as she gets to hang out with Deena. She is the snowplow and tractor operator, and offers a lifetime of experience to the projects at Singing Nettle. She is also a lifelong conservationist and land advocate. Her love is infused into every part of the land.
Deena FULLER
Deena Fuller is a small black dog with a talent for napping, finding snacks in the compost pile and licking people’s faces when they don’t expect it. She reminds us all to take it easy on hot days.
Friends and neighbors
We are grateful for the help of our friends and neighbors. There are so many who teach us and help us each season with all aspects of the operation – from pest identification to fence building to turnip thinning.
If you want to meet these cast of characters or are interested in volunteering on the farm, please get in touch.
